Venturing is the young adult program of the Boy Scouts of America. Venturers are between the ages of 14 and 21, and are organized in groups called crews. They are assisted in their activities by adults called advisors, but all plans are made by elected youth officers from within the crew. Activities that Venturers are involved, but not limited to include:

Camping
Backpacking
Climbing/Rapelling
Whitewater
Caving
S.C.U.B.A.

Venturers work towards and earn nationally recognized awards for these and other leadership and personal growth accomplishments. These include the Bronze, Gold, and Silver awards. Those venturers who complete a demanding course of outdoor high adventure requirements can also earn the Ranger Award.  Visit the national site here for more information.

Venturers have uniforms available to wear for public use, but usually do not wear them for most activities.

One of the most unique things about the Venturing Program is that it is open to both young men and women! Girls make up a large portion of the membership of Crew 100.

Crew 100 is proud to be a part of the Boy Scouts of America, and the Black Warrior Council. Our crew motto is, "Further, Higher, Faster ...", and we make every attempt to apply this idea to everything we do.
